Computer

Computer.

The computer is being used by a significant amount of users. And as an alternative to using paper. However, even computers can cause, carbon dioxide emissions. The computer has been spread amongst different users, from office-based to educational purposes. But we all understand how it is impossible to take away both the use of paper and computers, so what is left to make a better change?

To turn your computer to ‘sleep’, while not in use.

This action may seem useless on a scale of reducing carbon dioxide emissions. However, according to the US Department of energy, just turning off a computer when it is not being used can actually save, $186 a year in electricity. Allowing to prevent 1.5 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year! On top of that, using a laptop instead of the desktop would further improve on the efficiency of energy, as it uses around one-quarter of energy. Also if your computer job can be managed at any time of the day, having it done during the morning is better as it still cooler, avoiding the overheating of the computer which takes up a lot of electricity.
