Well, if you’re already buying products with such a logo on it, great job, you are already a caretaker of world forests. FSC labeled products can be found in many places around the world. Product examples would be things such as; toilet roll, milk cartons, food products, eg. This FSC label allows consumers to choose products which are a sustainable product to the forest, by the measure of FSC.

But who is FSC?

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), is a non-profit organization that has been sustaining forest management for over the past 25 years. From promoting responsible management of the world's forests, FSC has been helping companies agree on using sustainable resources while defining different forests on whether the forest is sustainable or not. Considering the impact of decisions made by today, in future generations, and also ensuring forests are protected for animals and other living substance.

Understanding the role of FSC, we can all be a forest protector by buying an FSC labeled product. Within the FSC label, there are three different types.

FSC label with, ‘FSC 100%’ is stuck on the product when wood within the product is entirely certified by FSC, and that the resources came from well-managed forests. Secondly, ‘FSC Recycled’, this label represents all wood or paper in the product that comes from a reused/ reclaimed material. And the third one, ‘FSC Mix’ are shown on the product which includes both FSC 100% and Recycled.

So if you are choosing between products, make sure to check closely whether the product has the FSC label. Choose smart!
